The priest preached honesty through morality and taught that it is important to not lie to others. The philosopher taught that utmost, it is important to be true to one's own self. The wise disciple did not remain confused between the two, but understood that both truths, when imbibed as one helped him grow as a better person. Philosophy taught him wisdom, principle taught him integrity. He chose to remain true to himself for personal enrichment. He also chose honesty with others, especially his dear ones, not for any reasons of ritualistic morality, but because when he said he loved them, he gave them a commitment and believed they have a right to know. They should know.
